Obama pushes for lower student loan rate

President Barack Obama is asking Congress to consider extending a 2007 authorization which enables students to benefit from an especially low interest rate on their loans. Student debt has now topped $1 trillion, the second largest debt after mortgage loans according to figures released by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Reserve.
